10th Class Advanced Supplementary Exams Schedule 2012
Candidates those failed in SSC Examinations 2012 for which results are
announced on 24th May 2012 can appear for SSC Advanced Supplementary
Exams 2012. The 10th Class Advanced Supplementary Examinations
Schedule 2012 has been announced by the SSC Board. Those candidates
failed in SSC / 10th class regular / private exams of Andhra Pradesh
Board can appear for the supplementary exams. You can also apply for
recounting and revaluation of the answer sheets. The SSC board will
send the marks lists of passed candidates to the schools with in 10
days. Following is the tentative schedule of supplementary
examinations:

1. June 2012: First Language-1 (Telugu), Composite Course
2. June 2012: First Language-2 (Telugu), Composite Course-2,
Sanskrit-1, Arabic-1, Persian-1.
3. June 2012: Second Language (Hindi)
4. June 2012: English-1

DAE Invites Applications for its Prestigious Scheme, 24th Dr.
K.S.Krishnan Research Associateship (KSKRA). Research Associates
selected under the prestigious KSKRA programme are given an
opportunity to work on R&D programmes of national importance relevant
to the DAE mandate in one of the following advanced research centres
of the Department:
Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai.
Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam.
Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT), Indore.
Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC), Calcutta.
Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB), Mumbai.
Up to 20 KSKRAs can be selected every year and paid a stipend of
Rs.26000/- + benefits for a maximum period of 2 years. At the end of 1
year of associateship, KSKRAs will be considered for absorption as
Scientific Officer/ Engineer-D/E, in the pay scale of PB-3
Rs.15600-39100 plus Grade Pay (GP) Rs.6600/- subject to satisfactory
performance
Educational Qualification :
For Engineers: Ph.D. degree in Engineering (Those who have submitted
thesis for Ph.D. may also apply) or Master's degree in Engineering
(M.Tech./ M.E./ M.S.) with a minimum of 2-year R&D experience after
obtaining M.Tech./M.E./M.S. degree.
For Scientists: Ph.D. degree in Science (Those who have submitted
Ph.D. thesis may also apply).
All candidates must have a First Class at either Masters or Bachelors
level. All candidates must provide a list of publications in support
of their R&D experience.
Age: Indian not more than 32 years as on 1st January in the year of
the application. The age criterion is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ ST
candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Selection Procedure: Selection will be done by an interview committee
from among the short listed candidates based on their qualification,
published R&D work and performance in the interview.

Ed News :UK visa curbs putting off Indian students?

Amidst renewed calls to the David Cameron government to review recent
curbs on student visas, the British universities have reported a
significant fall in applications for courses from India for the
forthcoming academic year starting September-October.

The actual scale of fall in students from India and other non-EU
countries will be clear by September, when students arrive to start
their courses, but lesser number of applications received by April-May
suggests that international students may be looking elsewhere.

Britain faces stiff competition mainly from Canada and Australia to
attract high fee-paying international students.

The challenge has increased as changes to the student visa regime in
the UK - particularly the closure of the post study work visa- have
been reported widely in countries such as India and Nigeria.

According to the Sunday Times, universities are seeing falls of more
than 30 per cent in applications from India "in the first signs that
foreign students are being put off coming to Britain by the
government's crackdown on migration".

Universities UK (UUK), the umbrella body representing 134 higher
education institutions, has warned the prime minister that
universities could lose between 5 to 8 billion pounds every year due
to the restrictions put in place as part of plans to curb visa abuse
and net immigration.

Prof Eric Thomas, chairman of UUK, says in a letter to Cameron that in
China and India, Britain is seen as "putting up barriers to entry",
and added: "The UK seems to be telling the world that it doesn't
welcome international students".

Julia King, vice-chancellor of Aston University in Birmingham, told
The Sunday Times that the university had experienced a "dramatic"
slump in applications from India, which were usually about 1,000 a
year but have fallen to 650 for 2012.

"They believe the situation is much friendlier in Australia, the US
and Canada - other places where they can learn in English," Ms King
said.

    APSET 2012 Notification announced

    APSET 2012 Notification, Eligibility and Online Applications
    Osmania University has announced APSET 2012 notification. AP State Eligibility Test is conducted for the award of Lectureship in various disciplines. Osmania University (OU) has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting APSET 2012. The examination will be held on 27th July 2012 in a total of 24 subjects from various disciplines. The exam is revived after 13 years. Earlier, the equivalent exam is known as SLET (State Level Eligibility Test). Following are details of exam scheme, subjects allowed, syllabus and online application procedure:

    Eligibility: Applicants should have qualified in PG in the concerned subject. The examination scheme and pattern will be in the similar lines of UGC - NET conducted by UGC. There will be three question papers all with objective multiple choice questions. There will be a moderation committee which decide the qualifying marks for APSET. The qualifying marks are said to be less than 5 percent.

    Subjects allowed and Syllabus for APSET 2012: Sociology, Anthropology, Education, Political Science, Computer Science and Applications, Economics, Telugu, Mathematical sciences, English, Chemical Sciences, Public Administration, Linguistics, Management, Earth Sciences, History, Commerce, Philosophy, Hindi, Physical Sciences, Law, Physical Education, Psychology, Life Sciences and Urdu. Syllabus for the examination will be in the standard of Post Graduation in concerned subject.
