Career News : APTET Notification, Syllabus, Previous Papers, Eligibility & Other Details

Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET): Government of Andhra Pradesh (School Education Department) conducts Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test in two papers i.e Paper I & II.

Online applications are invited from candidates who intend to be teachers for classes I to VIII in schools in Andhra Pradesh for appearance in the Fourth Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET-September, 2013) to be conducted by Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, 1stSeptember, 2013 in all 23 Districts of the State

Candidates who want to teach I to V classes have to write Paper-I & to teach VI to VIII classes must write Paper-II and to teach all the classes from I to VIII must appear for both the papers i.e Paper I & II. 

Minimum Educational Qualification: Intermediate/ Senior Secondary with Diploma in Elementary Education/ B.EI.Ed/ B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Com/ D.Ed/ B.Ed or equivalent.

STRUCTURE AND CONTENT OF APTET:
All questions in APTET - September 2013 will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.

There will be two papers of APTET-September 2013.
(i) Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
(ii) Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II)
Pass Criteria OF APTET- September 2013:

APTET September, 2013 Results will be declared on 20.09.2013. The criteria for considering pass in APTET are as follows:
i) OC 60% Marks and above
ii) BC 50% Marks and above
iii) SC 40% Marks and above
iv) ST 40% Marks and above
v) Differently abled (PH) ** 40% Marks and above

Candidates can apply for APTET – September 2013 to be held on Sunday 01.09.2013 'ONLINE' only through APTET website http://aptet.cgg.gov.in/ from 15.07.2013.

Selection Procedure

Short listed candidates will be required to appear for Preliminary Online test in open environment. i.e they will use their own resource. 
Those who qualify this test will be required to appear for the Final Online Test in controlled environment i.e at the pre determined venues.
 Only those candidates who qualify the Final Online test will be called for personal interview.

The schedule for Mock Test and Preliminary Examination has been sent to the eligible candidates through the e-mail (as mentioned in the Application Form) & SMS.
 Before the Preliminary Online Exam you can appear for the Mock Test for practice from 17.07.2013 to 19.07.2013 upto 6 p.m from your own resource. There will be maximum THREE attempts for the Mock Test.

GATE 2014 Notification: Released and Complete details

New in GATE 2014 

  1. Examinations for all the 21 papers will be conducted by an ONLINE Computer Based Test (CBT). 
     
  2. GATE 2014 examinations will be held during forenoon and afternoon on alternate weekends (Saturday and Sunday) between 1st February 2014 and 2nd March 2014. Examinations for some of the papers in GATE 2014 will be held in multiple sessions. Exact details regarding complete examination schedule will be notified at a later date.

Changes in GATE 2013 that will continue to remain in force for GATE 2014

  1. Application Process: For GATE 2014, as in GATE 2013, all candidates' related information will be available in a single GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). Candidates have to register and fill the application via ONLINE mode only by accessing any of the zonal GATE websites of IISc and seven IITs. Candidates must upload his/her photograph and signature during online application. The application process is complete only when a print out of the filled ONLINE application with the candidate's signature and a good quality photograph affixed in the appropriate place is received by the respective GATE offices along with necessary documents, if any, on or before 10thOctober 2013. Please note that application forms arenot available for sale anywhere else.
  2. Downloadable Admit Card: Admit cards will NOT be sent by e-mail/post. Admit cards can ONLY be downloaded from the zonal GATE websites. The candidate has to bring the printed admit card to the test center along with at least one original (not photocopied / scanned copy) and valid (not expired) photo identification. It may be noted that one of the following photo identifications is ONLY permitted: Driving license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar UID, College ID, Employee identification card, or a notarized affidavit with Photo, Signature, Date of Birth and Residential Address. The details of this ID proof have to be given while filling the online application.
  3. Numerical Answer Type Questions: The question paper for GATE 2014 will consist of questions of multiple-choice type and questions of numerical answer type. For multiple choice type questions, candidates have to choose the answer from the given choices. For numerical answer type questions, choices will not be given. Candidates have to enter a number as the answer using a virtual keypad.

CA CPT- December 2013

What is the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) ?


It is an entry level test for Chartered Accountancy Course. It is a test of four subjects i.e. Accounting, Mercantile Laws, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. This test is of 200 marks. This test is divided into two sessions of two hours each

  • A Simplified Entry to the Chartered Accountancy Course
  • CPT will replace existing Professional Education (Course-I) which requires 10-month study period followed by an exhaustive theoretical examination.
  • CPT is an objective type test to be held in December 2013

Common Proficiency Test will be an objective type multiple choice based examination. Candidates will be allowed to opt for Hindi medium Question Paper Booklet for answering the questions. Detailed information will be found given in the Information brochure.

Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is open only to those students who are already registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the said course and fulfill the requisite eligibility conditions.

Career News: Public bank Recruitment for 50,000 officers and clerks

Public sector banks are soon going to enter in a process to recruit over 50,000 officers and clerks in about a month or two.

A. S. Bhattacharya, Director, Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) said that they have requested banks to intimate them about the vacancies for the next financial year. There may be confirmation by August/September and the process will begin then.

"I expect the number of vacancies to be in the similar range for the forthcoming recruitment phase," the IBPS Chief said.

This will be an advantage for those who cleared the probationary officers and clerical examinations conducted by the IBPS earlier and waiting for jobs. As the validity of their qualification is up to March 2014, they stand to gain in the recruitment for the next financial year which is likely to be completed before the same deadline.

Most of the aspirants complain that the allotment of candidates to banks by IBPS in the recent past was lower than the notified vacancies in a particular bank.

Fulbright-Nehru Master's Fellowships

The Fulbright-Nehru Master's Fellowships are designed for outstanding
Indians to pursue a master's degree program at selected U.S. colleges
and universities in the areas of Arts and Culture Management including
Heritage Conservation and Museum Studies, Environmental
Science/Studies, Higher Education Administration, Public Health, Urban
and Regional Planning, and Women's Studies/Gender Studies
These fellowships are for highly motivated individuals who demonstrate
leadership qualities, have completed the equivalent of a U.S.
bachelor's degree, have at least three years professional work
experience, and are committed to return and contribute to their
communities

The fellowships are for one to two years
Grant Benefits: The fellowship will provide the following benefits
J-1 visa support; round-trip economy class air travel from fellow's
home city to the host institution in the U.S.; funding for tuition and
fees; living and related costs; and accident and sickness program for
Exchanges per U.S. Govt guidelines
The Fulbright-Nehru Master's Fellowship program provides no financial
support for dependents.

What is CSAB 2013 ?



Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) was constituted by the Govt. of
India to coordinate admissions for the candidates from India to UG
degree programmes in engineering, technology and architecture based on
the All India Rank obtained through class 12/other Qualifying
Examination and Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main).

IMPORTANT POINTS REGARDING SEAT ALLOCATION IN GFTIs/SFTIs THROUGH CSAB-2013

CBSE and CSAB are two different and independent boards.

CBSE conducted JEE (Main) examination and published the merit list.

CSAB only uses the merit list published by CBSE for seat allocation purposes.

CSAB is not responsible for any error either in marks or in merit
ranks of JEE (Main) -2013.

Both Government and Private Institutes will participate in seat
allocation through CSAB.

Government Technical Institutes (GFTIs) are National Institutes of
Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT
and IITDM), Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) and State
Funded Technical Institutes.

Private Institutes are called Self Financed Technical Institutes (SFTIs).

Seats in CSAB will be allocated on the basis of JEE (Main) All India
Ranks of the candidates provided by CBSE.

No other rank will be used for seat allocation.

In NITs, 50% of the seats will be from Home State (HS) Quota and the
remaining 50% from Others State (OS) Quota, i.e., all Other States and
UTs except the Home State.

As per the decision of the Apex Body (Joint Admission Board) of IIT
admission, this year the following restrictions will be applicable in
seat allocation of CSAB:

1. If a candidate rejects a seat allocation in CSAB, she/he will not
be eligible for any further rounds in CSAB including Spot Round and
Extra Spot Round.

2. If a candidate at any stage withdraws from CSAB after being
provisionally admitted to an Institute, she/he will not be considered
for any future rounds of CSAB seat allocation including Spot Round and
Extra Spot Round.

Personal Data along with bank details will be required at the time of
online registration in CSAB website.

Candidates are advised to carefully choose their institutes and
branches, for there is no provision of money back if one chooses not
to join the allocated institute.

Before clicking your choice, make sure that you know enough about all
the institutes and the branches you are choosing.

In Spot Round both Government Institutes (NITs, CFTIs and IIITs) and
Private Institutes (SFTIs) will participate and in Extra Spot Round
only Private Institutes (SFTIs) will participate

In Spot Round the collected fee is non-refundable if seat is allocated
to a candidate.

The collected fee will be sent to the allocated Institute by CSAB even
if the candidate does not take admission there.

The collected fee will be refunded to the candidate by CSAB in case
there is no seat allocation.
