NTSE 2012 - NCERT National Talent Search Examination

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) was started by NCERT in 1963 under National Talent Search Scheme. The main objective of the NTSE is to identify meritorious students across the country through examinations in various stages such as State and National levels. The NCERT has announced NTSE 2012 notification. The NTSE test will help nurture the talent in the school children. On the basis of the performance in the NTSE examination, 1000 scholarships will be awarded for students appearing for Class VIII examinations. The scholarship amount for selected candidates will be 500/- Rupees per month. Following are details of the NTSE Scheme for 2012.

Essential Eligibility: Students studying Class VIII in recognized schools are eligible to appear Stage I examination conducted by the respective States / UTs in which the concerned schools are located. 

Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected based on two-stage selection process for this scholarship. For Stage-I, selection will be done by respective States / Union Territories through a written examination at the state level. Students who qualify Stage I will be eligible to appear for Stage II examination conducted by NCERT.

Application Procedure: Interested candidates can download application forms from NCERT website at www.ncert.nic.in . You can also obtain the application form from concerned State / UT Liaison officer for NTSE. The filled in application form should be signed by Principal of the school where the candidates is studying. There is no uniform date for submitting the application forms. Concerned state governments will issue notifications for Stage I examinations and candidates have to respond to those notifications.

Exam Pattern of NTSE Stage I and Stage II: 

Stage I examination will be at State / UT levels. This will comprise of two parts, namely 1) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and 2) Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering topics such as social sciences, sciences and mathematics.

Stage II examination will be held at the National level. This test will consist of 1) Mental Ability Test (MAT), 2) Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering questions from Social Sciences, Sciences and Mathematics.

EAMCET 2011 Seats Allottment

EAMCET 2011 Seats Allottment - Engineering and Pharmacy 2nd Phase Counseling

EAMCET 2011 seat allotments will be released by Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher education (APSCHE) on 14th August 2011(Today) after 5 PM. The EAMCET seat allotment 2011 for Engineering and Pharmacy Courses will be displayed on the official EAMCET 2011 website of EAMCET at
apeamcet.nic.in OR
Candidates can obtain their allotment letters by logging into the site by following the procedure mentioned below. Following information will also give you the procedure to cancel the allotted engineering / pharmacy seat if you are not interested in joining in the allotted college and to participate in second phase eamcet 2011 counseling. Get Seat Allotment Order by following this procedure:

1) Enter the ICR Form Number (Registration Number), Hall Ticket Number, Password and Date of Birth in Candidate Login.2) Download the allotment order and read the instructions printed on the document. You can also download challan form for payment of fee if you are not comes under fee reimbursement scheme.3) You should pay the fee of any in any Branch of Andhra Bank / Indian Bank4) Those allotted seats and paid fee should report at the allotted college by the date published on the allotment order.5) Those candidates failed to report in the allotted college by the date published on the allotment order will be automatically cancelled and candidate can not claim the seat allotted.

EAMCET 2011 Engineering Second Phase Counseling: 

If you are not interested in joining in the allotted college, you should not pay the fee in order to participate in the second round / phase of counseling. If you have decided to not to join in the allotted college after paying the fee, you should not submit the challan copy to the allotted college. You need not collect your original certificates if you want to participate in 2nd phase engineering counseling. Here is the summary of the procedure you should follow to cancel the allotted seat and participate in 2nd phase counseling:

1) Do not pay the fee if you are not interested in joining in the allotted Engineering / Pharmacy college.2) If already paid the fee but not interested in joining in the allotted college, don't give the copy of fee challan in the college.3) Do not take original certificates from Help Line Centers, if you want to participate in 2nd phase counseling
4) Wait for the 2nd Phase Eamcet 2011 engineering counseling and follow the instructions to be given in the notification.

The Medical Council of India (MCI) will conduct the common entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical courses for the academic year 2012-13 in various institutions across the country in May next year.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for undergraduates (NEET-UG) for admission to MBBS, Post Graduate and super speciality courses will be conducted in pursuance of the Supreme Court directive. 

Number of Seats:
  • 42,000 seats for under graduate medical courses
  • 20,600 seats for PG medical courses
Common core syllabus 
The MCI has issued a common core syllabus for MBBS entrance exam, which has been put up in the public domain for feedback till August 11, following which the syllabus for physics, chemistry and biology would be finalised. The syllabus has been prepared by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). 
The modalities for NEET-Post Graduation, common entrance test, for medical post-graduate (MD/MS) admissions, are being worked out.

Exam schedules 
The examination is scheduled for January-February 2012. The pattern of the examination, distribution of questions across different MBBS subjects and model questions will be made available on the website in August. The NEET-SS for super-speciality courses (DM/MCh) is scheduled for June 2012, the statement said.
