Dates of Eamcet 2012, Icet, Pgecet, Edcet Schedules - OU or AU for Eamcet
It is most likely that the EAMCET 2012 will be conducted by Osmania
University for admission to engineering, agriculture and pharmacy
admissions in Andhra Pradesh for 2012-13. The Jawaharlal Nehru
Technological University (JNTU) Hyderabad has been conducting EAMCET
for the past 13 years in a row. The recent appointments of Vice
Chancellors to JNTU and some other universities in the state are
believed to be the reason for the proposed change of guard for EAMCET
2012. Unofficial sources are saying that in all its probability,
Osmania University or Andhra University will take the responsibility
of EAMCET 2012.
Eamcet is the highly popular Common Entrance Test in AP. Iit is
estimated that the host university of EAMCET will get about Rs.12
crore through sale of Eamcet applications. Osmania University seems to
be very keen on replacing JNTUH and want to conduct EAMCET 2012 during
May 2012. The AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) is likely
to take a decision in the last week of this month in this regard. The
APSCHE selects the responsible universities that will conduct all
Common Entrance Tests such as Eamcet, ECET, ICET, EDCET, LAWCET,
PGECET, DIETCET etc. on its behalf. All the CETs schedules will be
displayed on www.apsche.org. Following is the list of CETs and
probable responsible universities for the academic year 2012-13.
1) EAMCET 2012: Osmania University or Andhra University
2) PGECET 2012: Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati
3) ICET 2012: JNTU Hyderabad
4) EDCET 2012: Nagarjuna University, Guntur
5) LAWCET 2012: Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapuram
6) DIETCET 2012: Department of School Education, Andhra Pradesh.
Dates and schedule of notifications for these examinations will be
announced in the last week of December 2011. APSCHE has been
entrusting the responsibility of various CETs to different
universities on a rotation basis. Though both Osmania and Andhra
Universities are contesting for taking EAMCET responsibilities, APSCHE
has been with JNTUH for the past 13 years. With the appointment of
Prof Rameshwar Rao as the new Vice-Chancellor of JNTU Hyderabad in
November 2011, it appears that the relations between Prof Rameswara
Rao and APSCHE are under strain. Prof D.N. Reddy, who is known for his
adinistrative capabilities was retired in August 2012. Prof.
Rameswarao was removed from his post of convenor for PGECET 2011 due
to his inept handling of the examination process.
