ICWAI Certificate in Accounting Technicians 2010

WIth the growing demand for accounts professionals, short term courses have become order of the day. Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India has came up with a one year professional course in Accountancy. This is really an excellent opportunity for 10 + 2 qualified candidates to make a career in the field. It is a job oriented course and qualified candidates shall get opportunities in companies at the junior level positions. Candidates can register at any ICWAI regional councils and local chapters across India.

The course name is Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT). This is consist of Foundation and Competency levels. There are two streams of eligibility for both levels. 12th Class (10+2) passed OR those appeared for final year examinations are eligible to take admission in Foundation level course. Graduates and Foundation Passed students of ICWAI & CAT shall get direct admission in Competency Level.

Registered candidates have to qualify in the following papers for each level:

Foundation Course – Part-I: (Entry level papers)

Paper 1: Organization and Management Fundamentals.
Paper 2: Accounting
Paper 3: Economics and Business Fundamentals
Paper 4: Business Mathematics and Statistics Fundamentals

Competency Level – Part-II: These are advanced papers.:
Paper 1: Financial Accounting
Paper 2: Applied Statutory Compliance

Last Date for Admissions: At present registrations are on for June term examination. Last date for admission to this examination is : 18th December 2010.
Last date for December term examination: 26th June of the previous year.
