LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarships for Tenchical and Vocational Courses 2010
Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India is offering Scholarships under 'Golden Jubilee Scholarship' Scheme to Intermediate OR 10+2 passed students to pursue higher education. The main purpose of the scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students from economically poorer sections of society. The scholarship will be awarded for education in a government or private college/ university. The scholarships will also cover Technical and Vocational courses offered at Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Industrial Training Centers affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) at Graduation level.
Essential Eligibility: Applicants should have passed in +2 in the year 2009-10 with at least 60 percent marks. They should have interest in pursuing higher education in any one of the the disciplines of 1. Engineering 2. Medicine 3. Arts/ Science/ Commerce/ Diploma Courses in any field 4. Any Vocational course after +2.
Parents of the applicants should have annual income of less than Rs. 60000. Candidates have to provide self declaration on a non judicial stamp paper for this purpose along with submission of land details issued by revenue department. Duration of the scholarship shall be for the entire course. Amount of scholarship is Rs. 10000 per year distributed for ten months at Rs. 1000 per month.
LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation (GJF) shall screen the applicants on the basis of income particulars in ascending order. Candidates have to fulfill various requirements like attendance and pass percentages to continue under the scheme till the end of the course. Eligible and interested candidates can apply through www.licindia.in on or before 31st October 2010.
