Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are world class institutes for
Engineering courses in India. IITs also offer good quality Post
Graduate (M.Sc.), Dual Degree (M.Sc. - Ph.D.) and Research (Ph.D.)
Programmes for the year 2012-13. IITs admit students into above
mentioned programmes through Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. - JAM 2012
(JAM). The JAM 2012 will be conducted across the country 12th February
2012. All the courses are designed by IITs to impart excellent skills
and opportunities in various fields and disciplines. JAM 2012
Notification has been announced by IIT Bombay and interested
candidates can apply online or offline. Following are the details of
courses, eligibility, exam structure, old / previous question papers,
results cut offs along with application procedure:

Qualifications and Eligibility: Applicants should have Bachelor's
Degree in any subject / discipline. IITs use JAM 2012 scores to short
list the candidates for further admission process. IITs follow their
own eligibility criteria apart from JAM scores. There will be a single
objective type question paper with multiple choice questions for all
the subject examinations. There are different eligibility requirements
for various programmes of IITs. Candidates can visit IIT Bombay
website www.iitb.ac.in/jam for other details such as scheme of
examination, previous papers, results etc.
Important Dates:
1. Commencement of sale of Online Registrations: 22nd September 2011.
2. Start of offline application submission: 22nd September 2011.
3. Last date for receipt of JAM 2012 applications at IIT Bombay: 31st
October 2011 (Tentative)
4. JAM 2012 Examination date: 12th February 2012.
