NEET and EAMCET 2012 - Preparation Strategy
The medical seat aspirants from Andhra Pradesh have to integrate their EAMCET syllabus considering the NEET examination. NEET is for admission to MBBS degree across the country. Intermediate students, particularly second year candidates and those taking long term coaching for medical entrances have to get ready to crack national entrance exam, NEET with combined strategy and preparation. English and General Aptitude sections of national entrance exams are perceived to be difficult areas for students of Andhra Pradesh. They need to focus more on those subjects to get good score and rank in national level entrance tests.
At present, there are national level medical entrance exams such as AIPMT, AIIMS, AFMC, JIPMER, MGIMS, BHU, AMU, CMC, MAHE, SRM, Comed-K etc. Replacing all these examinations with a single exam NEET will be huge relief for future medical (MBBS) students across the country. On an average, MBBS aspirants are appearing for at least 8-10 entrance examinations every year. In this respect, NEET will certainly reduce the stress on students. Candidates should start practice for NEET with minimum 180 questions instead of 160 questions. They should consider 45 questions each from Botany, Zoology and Physics along with 45 questions from Chemistry.
Another important issue is negative marks. Andhra Pradesh students are not faring well in national medical entrance exams due to lack of practice with negative marking system. Final ranks of the candidates are mostly based on their negative marks. Candidates should be much careful of this system and they should start practice as many model papers as possible in these lines. Candidates should also be aware of differences and similarities in lessons, curriculum and syllabus of various exams like NEET, EAMCET and other national entrance exams. Students from Andhra Pradesh have to concentrate on additional topics mentioned in NEET syllabus. They have to compare the syllabus in Botany, Zoology and Chemistry and devise strategy for the preparation.
