OU Faculty of Technology B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D Courses
Osmania University may be the only institution in the country which has separate faculties and departments for Technology and Engineering Courses. Faculty of Technology of Osmania University offer B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D. courses in various disciplines. OU considers EAMCET ranks for admission to B.Tech courses and M.Tech seats will be filled through PGECET and GATE qualified candidates. There is a huge competition for engineering and technology courses of OU. Osmania University has separate department for Faculty of Engineering (College of Engineering). Here are some more details like duration and eligibility for the programme:
1) B.Tech: Duration is 4 years. Branches offered are Chemical Technology, Textile Technology, Food Processing Technology and Bio-Technology. Candidates should have passed or appeared for final year exams of Intermediate with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry subjects and also have qualified in EAMCET. Age should be above 16 years. Diploma candidates with relevant degree are also eligible. Admissions will be conducted by the Convener, EAMCET.
2) BHM and CT and BCT and CA: Duration of each course is 3 years. Applicants should have passed in Intermediate and selection of the candidates will be based on Entrance Exam and Aptitude Test conducted by respective colleges.
3) B.Pharmacy: Duration is 4 years. Applicants should have passed or appeared in the final year exams of Intermediate or 10+2 with MPC or BiPC subjects. 50 percent of seats will be reserved each for MPC and BiPC students. Candidates with Diploma in relevant subjects are also eligible to apply.
4) Post Graduate Courses (M.Tech Chemical Engineering): Duration is 2 years. Applicants should have passed in B.Tech or B.E Chemical Engineering and also need GATE qualification. Selection of the candidates will be based on valid GATE rank and as per the rules of the university.
5) M.Pharmacy: Duration is 2 years. Candidates should have passed in B.Pharmacy and must have qualified in GPAT.
6) Research Courses (Ph.D): The University is offering full time and part time Technology courses in Ph.D. with 3 years and 4 years duration respectively. Applicants should have secured a Master's degree in the relevant subject with at lest 55 percent marks. Those qualified in CSIR NET, GATE and other national level entrance tests will be preferred.
